Baseball is America’s pastime for a reason. It’s a storied game with a storied history, full of inspiration, hope, and Americana. It’s also a great excuse to eat a hot dog. Now that I think of it, most great American pastimes are good excuses to eat a hot dog (Tailgating, backyard barbecues, block parties). But baseball is special because it brings us together. Some may say it’s the most boring game to watch on TV, but I disagree. Watching a gifted batter hit a home run is the thrill of a lifetime.

I grew up walking distance from an MLB field, and the entire city would change during baseball season. It would buzz with energy. When it’s baseball season, people go out, they drink, they make merry. It’s good for the economy. And our spirits.
