Becoming a parent is a decision nobody takes lightly. It changes your whole world. You may think you can hold on to the activities you did as a non-parent, but odds are you’ll have to completely re-tool your life around your child. You’ll probably have a new set of priorities, and you’re no longer going out bar hopping until 4 AM with seven of your closest friends. But becoming a parent doesn’t mean you have to give up on who you are.
You’re still the same person, you just have a little creature on your hip now. It doesn’t mean you have to give up your hobbies, they just might look a little different. Instead of going to concerts every weekend, you might rock out with your headphones on after the kids have gone to sleep. Instead of going to a painting class, you might set up an easel in your laundry room where no one will bother you.
