Happy National Girlfriend Day, everybody! Whether you are a girlfriend, you have a girlfriend, or you’re an aspiring girlfriend, I hope your day is filled with love and appreciation. 

I’ve noticed people have been turning sour on the term «girlfriend» over the past couple of years, and by people, I mean millennials. I don’t mean to hate on millennials, but they often use the word «partner» to refer to their girlfriend or boyfriend, and I don’t particularly have a problem with that. However, I think their common reason for using the term partner could not be lamer. I have heard many millennials say that «boyfriend» and «girlfriend» sounds too immature for them. They think it makes them sound like a teenager, which I find ridiculous. Anyone of any age can have a girlfriend. Having a girlfriend is a rad feat at any age. If you use the term girlfriend and are proud of it, you will enjoy these girlfriend memes.
