Landlords are easily the bad guys in everyone’s fairytale. Raising the rent by 20% after fulfilling their basic duties as a homeowner (ie: painting over the moths on the walls and the baseboards) has given landlords a false sense of prowess and power. They feel invincible like they can get away with anything. 

Tangled in the throes of the battle between tenants and landlords, landlords need to remember that their Achilles heel is actually their greatest investment. Nice house you got here, it’d be a shame if your vindictive renter released live termites before the end of their lease. Touché, landlords, you’ve met your match with a fair share of renters who have grown desperate enough to stand up for themselves.
