Introverts know how to play their cards close to the chest.

An introvert may say they want to hang out with their coworkers after their shift, but as any antisocialite knows, this is all just a part of their at-work persona. 

There’s nothing an introvert wants more after a hard day at the office, on the job site, or a nasty commute: It’s to be at home, alone, at peace, and oh-so happy. Despite the beckoning calls in their call logs, on Slack groups, or in their personal text messages, socializing isn’t as delightful to an introvert as many would believe. In fact, continued socializing after an already social day at work is exhausting. Introverts need a moment to catch their breath and recharge their social battery. Without a proper recharge, they’ll become irate and elusive, watching their sarcasm speak the truth in real time. 

Psychologists are saying that there’s a new level of socializer out there called the «otrovert,» but as true introverted folks know, this describes every employed, non-hermit person. With no choice but to collaborate and ‘work well with others, ‘ introverts are forced into communicative positions every day. It’s not our choice, it’s our burden. So with that, let it be known to all socialites and extroverted types that your introverted comrades don’t hate you, they simply need their boundaries respected. Working within the limits of an introvert may be tough to navigate at first, but once you crack the code, break down the walls, and let your introverted acquaintances come out of their shell, you’ll see the brightest, most hilarious human being. 

Underneath all of their protective measures, introverts are actually excellent company. Like a cat, they just are picky and choosy with whom they show their affections. So with that said, if you’re ever chosen as an introvert’s designated socializer, be forever honored. You passed the vibe check enough for them to open up, so that’s pretty special.
