I think we all take for granted how lucky we are to live in a world with memes. If you lived in the 80s, you’d have to go buy a joke book or something to get the amount of humor you’d get from a meme list concentrated into one place. And even a Gen Xer will tell you that joke books are not even in the same stratosphere as meme lists. It might be fun to watch comedy movies, TV shows, and standup, but there’s something unique about getting your humor kicks from memes. They’re extremely accessible and easy to share with friends. If you tell a joke that you heard on TV last night to your friends, they might not be receiving that message through the best possible medium (no offense). On the other hand, when you send someone a meme, even if they don’t love it, they get it.
