I do not have a lot of biblical literacy. As an English major in college, my lack of knowledge of the Bible was my Achilles heel when trying to analyze texts. I knew that Lot had a wife who turned into salt. I know all of the sick and twisted things God did to Job and his family. I know about the apple, the serpent, and all that base stuff. Other than that, I’m deadweight at Biblical Trivia Night. 

I do know for a fact that a lot of dudes in the Bible did things for «40 days and 40 nights.» That’s a long time to do anything, let alone staying on a mountain, fasting, or ascending after a resurrection. If you do something less intense for 40 days and 40 nights, like quitting drinking soda or exercising for at least 30 minutes, you can probably continue doing it for another 40 days and 40 nights!
