There’s an element of compulsion that keeps us coming back to Twitter. Maybe we’ve tried to swear it off, and then we get that pesky little urge that causes our fingers to click around again. Maybe a big event is happening (like it will tomorrow) and you want to get in on the discourse while the getting is good.
Maybe someone sent you a tweet and you want to poke around to see if there’s anything else good. In any case, you’ve made your way there. You’re giving yourself over to scrolling, to feed that dopamine receptor and to make yourself feel better. And sometimes it works. Sometimes you see a string of tweets so good that it gives you faith in humanity. But sometimes you see some thread of discourse so abysmal that you lose faith in humanity just as fast. Faster, even. This is why you come to Memebase, to skip all the bad stuff.
