Taking care of someone else’s pet can be a daunting task. Some people are rightfully protective of their animals and have very specific ways of taking care of them. I once cat-sit for a woman who required that her cat’s food be in the microwave for only 13 seconds before she was allowed to eat it. How do you even come up with that specific a rule? But aside from basic health and safety, I’m of the belief that you have to relinquish a little bit of control when someone else is taking care of your pet. Especially if you’re not paying them.
