If many working people had to describe their relationship towards their workplace in one word, it would probably be something along the lines of ‘strained’. All too often, a job is the sole reason that an individual can afford their life (or at least scrape by with the necessities), but that comes at the cost of their sanity for 40 hours a week. 

While it can be good to have the vague sense of purpose that comes from having a job, and for most of us, it is a requirement if we want to keep on existing, that doesn’t mean that we can’t complain about it. 

Work memes are one of the more amusing ways to do that, taking those relatable struggles and transforming them into digestible tidbits of internet humor. For all the disgruntled and even merely gruntled employees out there, they are a welcome escape from the daily drudgery.
