Travelling is now a privilege afforded to many, but not everybody has the same idea about what makes a good vacation.
Some people want to pack as much action as possible into the limited days that they have at a location, while others prefer a cocktails by the pool kind of vibe. It has more or less been this way since global tourism became a thing.
That said, the increasing accessibility of international travel has definitely changed what it means to be a tourist from multiple different perspectives. In many countries, visitors have turned from a grudgingly accepted way to help the economy to an outright nuisance, and quite a lot of tourists themselves have become a lot more nonchalant about their ability to hop on a plane and land in a different culture.
