What do you call a dinosaur car accident? A Tyrannosaurus wreck.

We all had a moment in our childhood when we became obsessed with dinosaurs. We knew the names of hundreds of them, their habitats, what they ate, in which period they lived, everything! It was our personal fixation for half of elementary school.

Some kids eventually turned that childhood obsession into an actual career, and that’s amazing! These people truly know everything about dinosaurs, at least everything there is to know so far. New fossils are found all the time and all over the world, which changes what we thought about dinosaurs so far. Discoveries are made constantly, and they debunk the myths about dinosaurs we believed to be the truth. It’s so interesting to find out how these creatures lived so many centuries ago. The planet was also different from what we see now, and that is even more amazing! The ground, the seas, the weather, everything has changed! If you’ve seen at least a few documentaries, it’s impossible not to feel tremendously curious about everything. It makes us want to go back to college all over again and choose a different career path!

Of course, it’s never too late to learn new things, but realistically, our dino-train for studying palaeontology has already left the station. We’re too old to quit our jobs and go to a palaeontology camp to dig in the soil looking for fossils. Our knees hurt just by thinking about it. Besides, not everything is digging up dinosaurs. We would need to learn as much as possible about chemistry, biology, geology; the list goes on… For those of us who are not naturally good at hard sciences, it would become a pain in the neck quite fast.

However, if you are young and have an interest in all things dinosaur, we encourage you to follow your passion! Who knows, perhaps you’ll be the next great scientist making a discovery that will leave the rest of us flabbergasted. That day, we’ll be at your press conference listening very carefully to everything you have to say about our favourite reptiles. We might be a little old to turn paleontology into a career, but we’re never too old to learn!

This collection of memes will give us a good laugh while we search for the next dinosaur documentary to watch tonight.
