The older generations have got a bit of a bad reputation over the years for being backwards, and unwilling to keep an open mind. While in some cases this may sadly be true, many have also tried their hardest to keep up with the times in certain ways. The internet is a lifeline for people of all ages, but it doesn’t mean that everybody knows how it is meant to be used. 

All the social media users out there who were middle aged or older when it became a thing can often find it a pretty confusing enterprise. At least it causes some entertaining mix ups, like some of the examples listed here. The internet would be a much duller place if everybody used it like they were supposed to, and these things are one of the more wholesome instances of that. Maybe we should all try to embrace our elderly side more often.
