It’s common to hear people get nostalgic about living in other decades. They’d want to live during the 1970s because the music was so good, or they romanticize the frontier days because of the hopeful freedom of horseback riding, or maybe they think the 90s would have been fun because everyone lived rebelliously. 

But you never hear people getting reminiscent of medieval times. Nobody wishes they lived during an age when there was no sewage system, the life expectancy was 35, and random kings would come to steal your wares. No joke, medieval times were pretty wack– being a serf in a feudal land with only the corn husks to keep you warm at night? No, thank you. However, as we live and breathe in 2024, we can look back on those difficult times and chuckle at the heads on a spike and the fiddling court jesters who make us laugh centuries later.
