Welp. We’ve got another day on the World Wide Web. And frankly, we’re feeling a bit demoralized. It’s not easy to be glued to your computer when all the news seems to be bad news. There’s no way to sugarcoat the utter defeat we’re feeling in the wake of the terrible tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. Going about day-to-day life is extremely difficult when you’re trying to make sense of senseless violence, and the equally senseless cycle that the United States seems to be stuck in. As much as I try to maintain composure and stay off of Twitter, the news finds me. There’s the email updates as more casualties are reported. The Apple News push notifications bombard my cracked phone screen. People on the street, in my office, and in cafes lamenting the state of the world. While the pain and heartbreak are palpable, it simultaneously feels as though people are woefully desensitized to events like this. And it makes me want to scream. But I still need to focus on work, which means grabbing memes for people who might be feeling as dejected hopeless as me. So here you go. Maybe memes will help assuage the ache in our hearts and brains, at least for a little while.
