A Guy Has Been Photoshopping Paddington Bear Into a Different Movie Every Day for Almost a Year

In 2014, Britain’s favorite marmalade-loving bear came to life in the first live action adaptation of A Bear Called Paddington, the classic children’s book by English author Michael Bond. On June 10th, 2014 a still from the film was released to promote Paddington. The picture featured a grinning CGI Paddington Bear standing in front of Buckingham Palace in his blue duffle coat, floppy hat, and carrying a shabby briefcase. Something about the image inspired the internet, because people began placing the modest little bear into various horror film scenes and labeling the memes #creepypaddington. Instead of the terrifying twins in The Shining, there was Paddington at the end of the hall. Instead of a baby xenomorph popping out of John Hurt’s stomach, it was Paddington. Even though this trend peaked several years ago, Photoshop enthusiast and film buff @jaythechou has expanded the theme beyond the horror genre. Every single day since March 9th, 2021, @jaythechou has photoshopped Paddington into a different movie and posted the result to either Reddit or Twitter. Thanks to @jaythechou, we can now imagine a parallel universe in which every movie, from Shrek to Saló, or the 120 Days of Sodom, features Paddington Bear. Keep scrolling to see 50 of our favorite Paddington photoshops so far. We can’t wait to see what other appearances he’ll make.
