Remember a while back when all those gosh darned Zoomers seemed to be talking about was how much they wanted to be the ‘main character’? The basic premise was that to get the most out of our lives, we were all supposed to be treating them like movies in which we were the star. This meant making grand romantic gestures, giving a mental soundtrack to everything you did, and generally treating existence like you were constantly running it through the VSCO filter. 

Conveniently, it also adhered to presenting a finely curated highlight reel of your life, as with pretty much any social media that was ever existed. It’s not something most of us can imagine doing when we’re scrolling through content while idly slumped in our bed or desk chair, but perhaps we should try and have the creativity to try. There’s looking at memes, and then there’s looking at memes through permanently deep-fried glasses while the Nyan cat song blasts in the background. Now, doesn’t that feel better?
