‘Any chance of you working Saturday morning even thought you are getting married on Sunday?’: Restaurant managers asks worker to pick up shift the day before his wedding

There are a few days in one’s life when you just cannot be asked to work. We’re all used to working when we don’t want to. It’s kind of one of the conditions of humanity. We do it all the time. We put aside our own personal needs and wants so we can pay the bills to keep living our lives. We do it 40 hours a week until we retire. But there are a few days when our own lives become more important than making money. The birth of a child is one of them, and your wedding day is another.

When you’re getting married, you’re hopefully not worried about your shift at the local Mexican place. Hopefully, you’re thinking about your future spouse, not those random client emails that keep coming in. You’re thinking about walking down the aisle, not checking your phone for texts from your manager.
