‘Are you sleepy? Drink a Monster and keep going’: 22 Monster Energy Memes

Energy drink? More like my power cell poured into a beverage.

Have you ever crammed a whole night before a test, trying to retain the information provided in a whole semester in just a couple of hours? If you have, then you’re probably also familiar with energy drinks. Before exams or finals, when I really need to stay awake, I have done some incredible things to get through the night. I went so far that energy drinks aren’t enough anymore. I still drink them, but not for that occasion; I’m mostly having them every day —not saying it is okay or healthy at all; I know I’m damaging my organs. As someone who spends so much time drinking these kinds of beverages, I became curious about them. Are they really damaging my organs? Do they have any positive impacts on me? Well, I sure did my homework, and this is what I learned.

According to Harvard Health Publishing, energy drinks can cause severe side effects, especially in teens. This is caused by the amount of caffeine that the drinks have in them. These side effects go from dehydration all the way to actually causing people to enter cardiac arrest. These energy drinks aren’t toxic drinks or anything like that to adults; they still have the side effects, but who they really affect is children and teens. The FDA studies proved that teens exposed to this amount of caffeine suffer twice as many adverse effects as adults. They do finish their article explaining that this is not some kind of lethal drink for adults, but it should be completely avoid in children.

«If you have heart problems or high pressure, avoid energy drinks. If you are healthy and need a quick surge of energy, it is okay to consume an occasional energy drink»

It’s not all bad when we talk about energy drinks. It’s a common misconception to think that just because it has a lot of caffeine, it’s the most damaging and toxic thing with no positive effects on someone’s body. Well, that is a myth. Of course, energy drinks have positive aspects that can help you, and I have proof. According to Results Physiotherapy, these beverages have far more benefits than you could have imagined; they can, as you can imagine, boost your energy, but also stimulate your brain, enhance your athletic performance, and make it easier to regain focus. This article does clarify the importance of moderation.

«Energy drinks might provide a few benefits towards your energy levels and ability to focus, but they can also cause significant health issues if they’re not consumed in moderation.»

In conclusion, it is not bad to drink energy drinks; they do help with focus, especially on those nights when you need to learn a whole semester. But it’s not recommended for daily use, as it can produce side effects that damage your health, and more importantly, your heart. It is fine to drink them when you need an energy boost, but only if you are an adult. Children and teens do not benefit of them nor should be taking them ever. So, enjoy your drink, use the positive benefits that it gives you, but be safe. Don’t overdrink them; be aware of when you are feeling palpitations or other signs of anxiety. It’s just a drink, not the power cell that makes your whole body function.
