Over the past decade, few types of alcohol have undergone the type of rebrand seen in the humble beer. Once upon a time, it was the thing drunk by dads and jocks, that we forced down at house parties when we were trying to fit in. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, this humble hops-based favorite became something that you could be a nerd about. IPAs, tasting menus, quirky little names — people were suddenly treating beer with a reverence usually saved for its snootier cousin, wine. 

The whole thing got very annoying, very quickly. Nonetheless, it doesn’t mean that we can’t appreciate the pure joy that comes from cracking open a cold one with the boys, whatever the occasion. The fact that we’ve got a veritable rainbow of beer types to choose from as we do so can only enhance the experience, and provide us with even more amusing memes about this beautiful beverage.
