If you ask a random Harry Potter fan off the street what they think of Severus Snape, chances are you will get a strong opinion. Get 100 Potterheads in a room, and there’s a chance none of them will share the exact same take on Snape. Over the years, fan opinions have slowly but surely …

If you haven’t heard, the new and highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy game has already topped charts in its first week, even despite the ever-stacking pile of controversies surrounding the original franchise’s author (She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named). None of the other common rooms could compare to where Harry, Ron, and Hermione spend their Hogwarts days inbetween classes. The Slytherin Common room would make you feel like you’re …

Twitter Reacts To Hogwarts Legacy’s Predictably Named Trans Character ‘Sirona Ryan’
J.K. Rowling has never been good at naming her minority characters. While some of her more on-the-nose character names, like «Remus Lupin» and «Draco Malfoy,» have gotten some slight criticism over the years, «Cho Chang» and «Kingsley Shacklebolt» have become laughingstocks of the internet, as they should! «Cho Chang» is just two Korean surnames squashed …

The Best Harry Potter Memes of the Week (February 6, 2023)
If there’s one Harry Potter character whose hype I never really understood, it’s Draco Malfoy. So many Draco fangirls see him as a misunderstood boy with secret depth and hidden pain. I don’t think that the text of the books or the movies really supports that, but I believe they get this idea from the …

People Discuss Weird Inconsistencies in the Harry Potter Universe
Harry Potter fans love to praise the worldbuilding of the Wizarding World, and I understand why. Harry Potter is often the first prolonged series of books young readers will consume that takes place in a complex alternate universe. Because of this nostalgia, the worldbuilding gets a bit overhyped by fans who don’t wish to see …

One of the greatest mysteries of my life has been one I’m sure all of us have asked at one point or another; What does Butterbeer taste like? That unanswered query is why I recently marched down to the Harry Potter store right near the Flatiron Building and spent 12 whole American dollars on a …

The Best Harry Potter Memes of the Week (January 23, 2023)
I don’t know if there’s ever been a fictional character with more father figures than Harry James Potter. Considering his lack of alive and supportive immediate family members, Harry had the chosen family thing down to a science. Rubeus Hagrid, Arthur Weasley, Albus Dumbledore, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and arguably Severus Snape looked after Harry …

A Random Act of Semi-Curated Memes
Time is weird. Five minutes doesn’t sound, outwardly, like a lot of time. But it can pass in wildly different ways. Five minutes at the DMV, or waiting for 5 o’clock to roll around, can feel like an eternity. The same goes for waiting in line for a drink at a crowded bar. But five …
