Ah, Marvel movies. They’ve become an object of scorn by both film snobs and superhero fans alike. If Marvel makes billions of dollars as they did in 2019, snobs complain that they’re becoming too much of a cultural monopoly, making little room for anything else. If Marvel movies flop commercially, then they’re a harbinger of …

Happy Valentine’s Day, Marvel fans! There are so many Marvel-themed ways to enjoy this day of romance and store-bought cards if your partner will allow it. I believe the most romantic activity that you could partake in is trying to find a workable position to do the Spider-Man upside-down kiss. It’ll probably be difficult if …

This has been a big month for Marvel trailers. The teaser trailer for the new Fantastic Four movie came out this week, and I’m already charmed by its midcentury costume design and promise of found-family storylines. I hope this will finally be the summer blockbuster that Marvel fans have been waiting for.  Daredevil: Born Again …

A lot of MCU fans are biting their fingernails with anticipation of the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series. As far as I can tell, he really does need to be born again. It’s been 22 years since the original Daredevil movie, and that was by no means a success. Mark Steve Johnson, the director of …

The 2025 Oscar nominations came out yesterday, and I’m sorry to say that Marvel did not snag a single one. We got too spoiled during the years that Black Panther movies came out, with Black Panther (2018) snagging seven Oscar nominations and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) getting four. Last year, the only nod Marvel …

If you had told me in 2018 that Venom would be the most critically acclaimed of the Sony Spider-Man villain solo films, I would’ve called you a fake-time traveling liar. When Venom first dropped, imagining a worse superhero movie in the modern era was incredibly difficult. Somehow, by the grace of God Sony had a …

There is one question that Marvel fans have been asking for the past couple of years that probably will never be answered «yes»: Will they recast the character of T’Challa? Recasting T’Challa would’ve been unthinkable and insensitive for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but I’m unsure if that still stands now. I think that Marvel has a …

Happy holidays, Marvel fans! Since Christmas and the week after Christmas are such big days for going to the movie theater, it’s kind of shocking that the MCU has never had a movie with a Christmas Day release. The closest thing they’ve done to a Christmas Day release is releasing Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17th, …

Everybody is well aware that 2019 was the golden age of Marvel on the silver screen, but we’ve yet to quite reach the point in the nostalgia cycle where we’re accurately labeling 2021 as the golden age of Marvel on Disney+. I know a lot of people think Disney+ shows are what led to the …
