Christians Spark Debate After Hijacking Plane With Religious Singalong

Wherever we sit on the religious spectrum, most of us can agree that Jesus was a pretty cool dude. Nonetheless, most of us also don’t want the evidence of said coolness shoved down our throats when we have next to no say in the matter. Getting roped into an act of non-consensual worship can be extremely awkward, and not having an escape route makes it even worse. It can be cringeworthy enough when we accidentally make eye contact with a street preacher, but this pales in comparison to a sermon when stuck on an airplane.

This is what happened to some unsuspecting fliers recently, who found themselves in the middle of a singalong praising the Lord whether they liked it or not. A video of the event  was originally uploaded to Instagram by pastor Jack Jensz Jr, along with the caption «Worshipping our King Jesus 30,000 feet in the air!». This enthusiasm wasn’t shared by @davenewworld_2, who took the clip to Twitter to disparage the group’s efforts.

While some agreed with him in that the musical interlude would have been an unbearable situation to be in, others felt that he should be showing more respect for peoples’ beliefs, and how they choose to share them. There’s certainly nothing wrong with being a Christian, but mixing this with an acoustic guitar is where we have to draw the line.
