Customer Starts Debate After Getting Grossed Out By Barefoot Subway Worker

When we order food from somewhere, most of us expect a baseline of expectations to be met. We want to receive our meal at a reasonable time, and for it to taste good. It would be nice if the person serving it was friendly. Perhaps most important of all, though, is that the food gets prepared in a hygienic environment that doesn’t make us sick.

As many have learned the hard way, this is something that many businesses fall foul of. It’s easy to let standards slip when things are busy, or even when you just don’t care. However, sometimes you see a food safety violation out in the wild that is not only off-putting, it really doesn’t make that much sense.

This is what happened to @witaknotach, who found himself surprised by the person who served him in Subway recently thanks to their improper dress. While they remembered to put on their gloves while making his sandwich, it would seem that they had forgotten that they needed to be wearing shoes.

The short video attracted a lot of attention on TikTok, and many viewers were not short on puns surrounding the employee’s lackadaisical approach to their work uniform. At the same time, others argued that despite the lack of appropriate footwear, they would not be that bothered about being served by someone barefoot so long as they were following all other regulations. Nonetheless, it’s fair to say that most of us don’t like seeing peoples’ toes just before we eat. Let’s hope that floor was well mopped.
