Entitled stepmother demands stepdaughter stop her own graduation party, claiming she wants the house to herself, dad takes daughter’s side: ‘If you need space, you’re free to leave’

Do you have a plan to get guests to leave your place when you feel it is time to call it a night? Because if you don’t, maybe it’s time you come up with one.

Take it from someone who used to have friends over a lot; coming up with subtle yet effective ways to get someone to leave is very useful. If you don’t want to offend them, as they may not take it well if you straight up tell them you want them to go, you simply must get… creative.

My method (and please give me credit if you use it) is to get up and use the bathroom. When I return, I don’t sit back down; I simply hover next to them. The fact that I am standing up while they are still sitting down eventually will make them subconsciously feel like they must stand up too. Then, once we are all standing up and probably still talking, I will either start tidying up the room, clear up dishes, or slowly walk them to the front door.

And before you know it, they are waving goodbye, you are closing the door behind them, and everyone is happy.
