The day we all stop cringing at one another is the day hell freezes over. It doesn’t matter how cool or great we think we are, there is probably some hater out there who thinks that everything we do is completely unbearable. In a way, this is a rallying call to act as we want and not worry about the idea of coming across as cringe, but there are some ground rules that not everybody takes heed of. Most of us don’t set out actively trying to be cringe, and herein lies part of the problem. There are many out there who are cringey in hugely offensive ways that they refuse to develop any self-awareness of. Some things will always deserve to be cringed at, but others are really just people living their lives however they want. It isn’t always an easy distinction to make, and all we can do is try and trust our own judgment.
