It’s such an honor to learn your friends’ lore. There are always decades of information to catch up on when you meet a new person, and it might take years to catch up on somebody’s lore completely. I feel like I know my friends I’ve met in adulthood pretty well, and then they’ll drop some insane lore that nobody saw coming. I recently found out that one of my friends took two years of Russian language in college, and I had no idea! I know that someone’s undergraduate coursework is probably not the most relevant fact to learn about a friend, but those were four years of her life that I didn’t know her, and I want to soak up as much lore about it as I can so I can feel like I did know her!
