It’s been a long, hard day at work.
Your boss won’t get off your back about impossible project deadlines, the AC went out during this record-breaking heatwave, and your fuel light just came on. After clocking out, you thought you might catch a break, but you notice that your bills are piling up, your mother-in-law called (again), and eggs are still $8 a dozen. You can feel your blood pressure rising with each news notification, and as your stress levels continually rise, the urge to reach for your vice of choice grows stronger.
Everyone has their own way of blowing off steam when the stress of life boils over, but unlike the unhealthy vices of the Boomers and Gen X, which tend to gravitate towards immediate gratification and self-detriment, younger generations have found themselves craving more wholesome vices. And they have the memes to prove it! They have inadvertently made it cool to crave silly little vices that take the edge off.
Why would anyone perpetuate a traditionally unhealthy habit when you could have a crisp, dill pickle spear instead?
