Man stands up to mooching cousin after she moves to his city and treats his apartment like her own for months: ‘She can’t just treat my home like a hotel’

Have you ever moved across the country to a different city with just a suitcase and your courage? What was once a mere dream has suddenly become a reality, and with that fervor you have, you’re set on paying your dues and putting in the necessary work required to get to where you want to be in your new home. As daunting as moving to a new place may seem, there’s a reason why so many dreamers decide to do it anyway. A new city means reinvention, a clean slate to be the person you feel you are meant to be. It’d be challenging to do that when you’re mooching off of a family member who lives in that city, though. It seems some people nowadays aren’t okay with being uncomfortable at times, as evidenced in the story below.

Look, the worst part of moving to a new place is the act of traveling to your destination with all your belongings. If you’ve managed to lock down a job and an apartment (which you should have done before moving), you are already set on necessities. Socially, though, you have a long way to go. It always helps to have a few distant connections to rely on if you need a guide or someone to complain to, but you shouldn’t suffocate these connections to the point of no return.

It doesn’t matter if these reliable connections are family; family deserves the same amount of privacy and respect as anyone else. So, when a man’s cousin decides to make his apartment her home away from home after living there for a few weeks, he decides he can’t take it anymore. Families never have to be this close. What do you think? Scroll below to read the entire story.
