If there’s one thing I love, it’s being a little rowdy in public in a venue where that is socially acceptable. I like to get loud without annoying other people on the subway. Last week, I got the opportunity to do that at a little thing called bar karaoke. Even though it was on a Wednesday night and there weren’t that many people there, it was such a fantastic experience. I sang Tubthumping by Chumbawamba, and the crowd went mild. The karaoke was not on an actual karaoke machine; it was on YouTube. I could’ve done any song in the world, and I chose Tubthumping by Chumbawamba, and I am not ashamed. There were all sorts of karaoke types at this bar: the good singers, the shy girls trying to put themselves out there, the Swifties.
