At this point, it feels like a significant portion of social media video content is videos about food. Easy weeknight dinner tutorials, gross ragebait ‘life hack’ recipes, people who insist on foisting their weird diets upon an audience, and, last but by no means least, the tradwives.
These wives, moms, and homesteaders are in the business of creating content about how great it is to have no business apart from raising kids and following elaborate recipes on a daily basis. Some see it as aspirational for either themselves or the women in their lives; others denounce it as propaganda, or at the very least, one of the very many types of content designed to hypnotize us into continued engagement. Either way, there is little that is trad about the business model.
