People can get incredibly weird about multi-racial families. They will go up to a mother who is a different race from their child and accuse them of taking them away from «their real mother,» despite knowing nothing about the child, the parent, or the circumstances of the child’s life. With fathers, accusations can turn more suspicious, accusing them of straight-up kidnapping their children. A lot of randos will just straight up not believe that a parent can have a different race than their child and still be their parent, and decide to take manners into their own hands. Multiracial families get harassed and, in some cases, even get the police called on them. This can become a commonplace part of their family’s everyday life, forcing them to take measures to be able to quickly communicate that they are their kid’s real parents, and sometimes, even that is not enough to protect their kids.
