Since Season 4 of Stranger Things featured  ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),’ the 1985 song by English singer Kate Bush has had a significant resurgence in mainstream popularity. While Kate Bush has always had a solid indie fanbase throughout the years, she had yet to achieve as much mainstream success in America or have a top ten hit on the Billboard Top 100. However, that changed this week when her single ‘Running Up That Hill’ got to #8 on that chart 37 years after the song’s release. 

The song’s inclusion in the soundtrack has created many new Kate Bush fans. The response from longtime Kate Bush stans was mixed. Some were shocked that new fans had never even heard of Kate Bush before Stranger Things. Some related to the new fans, sharing the embarrassing ways they were introduced to her music. However, many welcomed new fans with open arms.
