Surgery is a scary thing to go through, no matter how many times that you’ve experienced going under the knife. Getting your guts rearranged in the professional sense is not something that appeals to most, not least because of the potential for complications. At least these days we have the miracle of anesthetic to take the edge of the worst of it. 

Putting somebody under is such a complex process that they have a special brand of doctor to specialize in it. It can also be a mighty strange thing to experience, with some humorous side effects. Plastic surgeon @greerplastics recently shared the funniest thing that she had heard somebody say before the anesthetic took hold, leading others to share their own experiences. It would seem that getting medically knocked out is a hilarious experience, even if the procedure might not be. Sometimes, we’ve got to find the humor where we can.
