The internet has many foes, but one of its fiercest, and perhaps most surprising, is golf. TikTokers denounce it as a dry old man sport and environmentalists decry its adverse impacts. Some imagine a world where golf never existed, which was apparently the key to utopia this whole time. I personally only participate in the Wii version of the sport, but that’s neither here nor there. 

So when an Arizona golf course worker recently shared a video of their sprawling green ostensibly torn up by javelinas (a type of feral hog), they were probably expecting sympathy. But the internet being the golf-hating haven that it is, they were instead met with relentless dunking. Commenters launched from all angles, turning an L for golfers into a W for hogs. It’s the meeting of the minds of two of the internet’s favorite topics: feral hogs, and golf hate. No matter which side of the controversy you land on, we can all admit that it’s pretty funny to imagine pigs playing golf.
