How fitting that this compilation of cringe falls on April Fool’s Day. It would be nice to think that all the different people acting embarrassing here were merely making some kind of tasteless joke, or engaging in some expert trolling. While this might be true of a minority, the likelihood is that most of them are 100% genuine. 

Most of us like to think that we’re above the awful depths of cringeworthiness, and that’s exactly what leads us into the trap of doing these horrifying things. A lot of the truest cringe is caused by arrogance, which is not an attractive trait to begin with. It’s easy to replicate, though, and the result is that we get a high concentration of garbage on the internet. If it’s going to exist, we may as well gawp at it. Ignoring dumbness of this magnitude is just too much of a difficult task.c
