‘This was the most expensive office party in the history of the company’: Boss spends 6k to throw his employees an unforgettable office BBQ

This boss is going to be a hero to their employees. This fearless manager stood up to an unfair rule in the best possible way — through malicious compliance, and following all the rules.

Work-life balance is one of those things that people always talk about trying to achieve, but in reality, it’s hard to find balance. Everyone wants to succeed in the workplace, but some bosses insist that you work long hours or holidays in order to accomplish all your tasks. It seems like this company’s CEO had his values in the right place — he valued a work life balance, and most likely would have wanted his employees to have the day off on July 4, to celebrate the national holiday. But unfortunately for the OP,  u/TheLightningCount1, this CEO was out. And someone else was making decisions for him. Instead of getting a day off, this person was giving no thought to the employees’ wellbeing.

This boss was determined to protect their employees, even if they couldn’t have the day off. Since they all had to go to work, the boss decided to throw the biggest, most fun, most elaborate party they could think of. It’s a tale of malicious compliance that is just too perfect. The OP got exactly what they wanted, and their employees had a literal field day.
