While it may have its occasional downsides, there are a great number of benefits to being a Lord of the Rings fan. For one, whenever you are feeling particularly bored or down, you have one of the greatest fantasy series of all time at your fingertips to instantly cheer you up and/or distract you. Also, the LOTR fandom is such an influential bunch that Hollywood just can’t stop making even more content from the land of Middle-earth to appease them. As if that wasn’t enough, there is also the fact that all the wannabe nasty little hobbitses out there are a funny group who simply can’t stop making memes to go alongside their beloved books and movies. If the measure of the quality of a work of art comes from the amount of internet humor that it has inspired, then LOTR wins every award by a country mile (not that this wasn’t obvious anyway).
