For all that Peter Jackson’s original Lord of the Rings trilogy is a timeless classic, it can’t be denied that a lot of Tolkien’s plotlines and rich worldbuilding had to be left out to bring them to the big screen. For example, there was plenty that happened after the end of the events in the movie The Return of the King that didn’t make the cut, and The Rings of Power frequently draws upon unused characters and tidbits. There is even his abandoned sequel, The New Shadow, which never even got far enough to be put into print, let alone adapted.
These things just go to show what a rich source the LOTR universe can prove to be for any manner of content, whether serious or humorous. Personally, we are here to showcase the funny side of Middle-earth, and the fandom has no problem whatsoever in providing the material for that.
