Cats have really pulled off one of the best scams of the past few millennia. All they had to do was act cute, give us the bare minimum of affection, and maybe catch a few mice, and we decided en masse that we were going to keep them as a part of our household to the present day. 

After that, it was game over; all that these crafty kitties have to worry about these days is when their human servant is going to open the next can of food. It’s a hard life annoying us for treats and pets, but somebody has to do it. In these modern times, their bountiful repayment to us comes in the form of being the perfect inspiration for memes. Next time your feline companion chooses to be sick on the carpet again, just remember all that their species gives back in the form of funny internet pictures. It’s gotta be worth it.
