Wholesome: Escaped Dog Goes on a Shopping Spree With Big-Hearted Neighbor

Whether you live in a city or a suburb (or maybe even somewhere more rural) chances are you’re at least somewhat acquainted with your neighbors. Well, if they’re not total maniacs who give off threatening auras. As much as I like my human neighbors, however, I’m far more excited about their pets. And you bet I know everything from their names to their favorite snacks and allergies. My boy Ash (gorgeous male tabby) who lives downstairs happens to be the brother of my own cat. He loves a churu treat and enjoys rolling around in the petals of our pear tree even more. Don’t even get me started on Mochi, the puppy who lives next door.

Sometimes, the pets of our neighbors will make us realize we are a bit more sentimental than we thought. Such is the case of one @Kyla_Lacey, who went viral on Twitter this past week. It seems her neighbor’s dog escaped from his home, and when it became clear his owners weren’t home, she decided it was time to take this dog on a shopping spree so he’d be comfortable while in his temporary home.

The thread is a wonderfully wholesome reminder that people are still out here doing good, whether it’s for our neighbors, their pets, or both. While our faith in humanity may not be fully restored, we’re certainly happy to see this kind of positivity getting the attention it deserves.
