Did you thank your mom or dad yet today?
Once you become a parent, your perspective starts to change. I always hated it when my mom would say, «You’ll understand when you’re a parent.» And, honestly, that still annoys me, it feels like a cop out. I’m vowing to never say that to my kids when they get older. If I can’t explain something, I’ll just fess up to it. Or if they give me a boundary I don’t understand, I will still respect their boundary… Anyways, I’m getting lost in the sauce. Long story short, that annoying statement still rings true sometimes (annoyingly). Yes, there were definitely things I didn’t understand back then that I now do as a parent, but that’s besides the point. You know what something is that my mother will never understand? Memes. She did not come from the meme generation like I did. Thus, she will never understand what it’s like to parent with memes. The beautiful tool of memes!
