One of the funniest things about parenting is watching your kid grow up to be just like you, or their other parent. They have such personality and individuality, even when they’re little, but one day they’ll make a face that looks exactly like their father’s and you realize that they are truly your child. I always wonder if it’s nature or nurture in these situations. I’m sure it’s a little bit of both. Kids pick up your mannerisms, your turns of phrase, and learn the ways you hold your face. Plus, when kids are little, their parents are literally superheroes to them.
They want to be exactly like them, wear what they wear, do what they do, and say what they say (even if what they say isn’t exactly appropriate for children). They’re sponges, and their little brains will imitate everything and anything they see. When I was little, I would develop a southern accent when I spent time with my southern family.
