If I could give up everything here and go start again on a new planet, that would be a tempting offer. Even more than moving across the country, moving to another planet would truly make you feel like you had a fresh start. You could learn about a new culture, you could make new friends who have no context for you, and you could finally understand the joys of intergalactic travel. Would you do it? Ultimately, I’m pretty happy with my life on Earth, and there’s not a lot that I would change. 

Part of that is being able to explore different worlds through the realm of science fiction. I don’t need to go to another planet. I can watch a Stanley Kubrick movie and feel like I’ve traveled across dimensions. That is the power of storytelling. It’s why we keep coming back to these franchises year after year, day after day. And the best way to honor those is through memes.
