It has become clear to me that the world is ruled by chaos. We can try to make sense of it the best that we can, and create plans and rules and systems, but randomness pervades. How else do you explain some of the kooky stuff that happens in our world? Why else do I walk down the street and see a used cat toy perched atop a giant tin of corn, discarded on the curb? Surely nobody meant for that to happen, but it did for whatever reason. Sometimes things just happen because they… happen. 

This is how we can explain some of these design fails. That, and human error. The endemic stupidity of humans plus the randomness of the universe means that we end up with things that just don’t make sense. But thank goodness, because boy do we love to laugh at them. How else would we get our kicks?
