There are a few universally happy moments in a person’s life. Even the grumpiest of grouches can’t resist a tight-lipped smile when an adorable puppy wiggles happily in their arms or when a child hands them a tiny flower. And the most stern, cold-hearted workaholics are stirred when their train arrives exactly on time or when their morning coffee is piping hot and perfect.
Being a happy human is not as complicated as you’d think. While the world collapsed around us and the glaciers groan with old age, there’s at least one decent thing going on—no matter how tiny and seemingly insignificant, these happy little moments keep the fire lit in our soul. Perhaps it’s a perfectly timed ray of sunshine on your cheeks, the last bite of a cinnamon roll, or just taking off your work boots at the end of a long day. Seek the joy, seek the happiness, and relish in the seemingly insignificant joys of life.
