No matter which way you slice it, this confrontational act is likely going to require a conversation with your boss. And unfortunately, this is one party where you can’t do an Irish goodbye. Well, I supposed you could simply stop showing up to work, but that’s a whole different story. 

Quitting your job is an essential part of being in the workforce. We get hired. We work. We hate our chatty coworkers. We move on. The spinning wheel of life sometimes forces introverts to break their comfort shell and approach their boss with a quit bid and a reason, with a 2-week notice in hand. Stress builds up throughout the day, breaking your focus and psyching you out, but an introvert has to slog through their own social awkwardness and just get that conversation over with already.
