There are plenty of things to gripe about when it comes to the average workplace, but for those who hope to see some success in their jobs, perhaps the most frustrating can be how said success does or does not come about. There are all too many companies that love to give the idea that they are a meritocracy and then cheerfully hand out promotions to the people who do the best brownnosing, not the best work. What’s worse is that sometimes the people who work hard and bring results are forever relegated to the same position because nobody can replace them as effectively. 

It’s yet another reminder that the system doesn’t really work all that well, and work memes are here to lay that bare. Their complaints may be humorous, but the pain comes from a very real place. It is good to know that no employee is alone in their plight.
