We’re nearly a year out from Avengers: Doomsday‘s release in theaters, and I’m very curious about how it will be received. This movie is being touted as the biggest thing in the MCU since Endgame, which makes sense because «Doomsday» and «Endgame» are tautological.

The problem with Endgame was that it was the perfect ending, so the MCU has been floundering over the past couple of years, trying to find something to re-engage fans. Too many fans skip theatrical releases and merely watch Marvel movies on Disney+, and that is not good enough for Marvel.

The fate of this movie rests on the idea that fans will be willing to leave their homes and go to the theater to support the return of Robert Downey Jr. and his casting as Doctor Doom, who is supposedly an even bigger bad than Thanos.
