When your company is doing you dirty, you should call it out. There is no reason to put up with something just because you feel like you should. Sometimes companies are banking on the fact that you won’t speak up about something. If you don’t know the rules, then it’s hard to play the game. If you’re equipped with information, though, then you can handle anything. You can take the bad guys to task if you must. That’s what the employee in this story was trying to do when they noticed a pretty infuriating policy that their work was enacting.

When you work, you want to be compensated for it. This is not a difficult concept to grasp, but it is an apparently difficult one to implement. Companies too often seem to be taking advantage of the people who work for them. They rely on the labor they feel like they can get, and then they use that to its very last drop. But if you continually try to squeeze the people who work for you, they’re going to start to notice. Good businesses don’t rely on people taking advantage of one another. If yours does, then it’s probably not a good business.
